Apart from our headquarters in Karagwe  (the northermost marker on the map below), we also operate two field stations in Ngara and Biharamulo.


Karagwe, Ngara and Biharamulo together constitute the Diocese of Rulenge, CHEMA's parent organization and area of operation. Covering an area of 20,720 km2, it borders with Uganda in the North, Rwanda in the West and Burundi in the South. To the east are the shores of Lake Victoria.

According to the National Census of 2002 the Rulenge Diocese is the home of 1,171,207 inhabitants with the intercensal growth rate (1988 – 2002) of 3.1 % per year and an average household size of 5.2 persons:
